1. Define your areas
Zig Ziglar defines 7 areas in his wheel of life. Personal and social, work and career, family, spiritual, financial, mind/intellect and physical health. These 7 areas that are one idea for setting goals in. It is important that you define your areas. If you have kids, you may have goals that you want to achieve with your children, therefore this would be a great area for your to define. It could be an important relationship, or house maintenance or your health etc.
2. Next, you will need to break down your areas into what you would like to achieve for this month. Once you have added the goals to this month, you will need to take a calendar and break up the monthly goals into weekly goals and then into daily goals. For example, if I have a goal of keeping up on house cleaning, I may decide that this month I am going to rent a carpet cleaner and clean my carpets. I would then assign that to the week I was able to get to it and then lastly to a day that I would plan to achieve it. Do this for each of your goals.
3. Keep your goals in the same notebook and use the same calendar. This helps to be sure you are achieving your goals and also tracking your progress. If you have any unfinished goals at the end of the month, list them on the next month's goals. You can follow this same outline to achieve a 5 year goal plan. You will list where you want to be in 5 years in your defined areas, you will then break those goals into yearly goals. Next you will break the yearly goals into monthly, weekly and daily goals until you have achieved your over all plan. Remember, this is a marathon, not a race! Take Care!
