October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This month has been designated for all of us to focus on domestic violence and to be aware of the signs of domestic violence. This effort to increase awareness is so that we can educate ourselves and others on what domestic violence really is and help to prevent and stop domestic violence. Domestic violence can happen to anyone in any relationship. It does not discriminate based on race, level of education, socio-economic status or even gender. Domestic violence IS all about power and control. Power and control are not part of the equation that love is made of. There are tactics that abusers use to gain power over another person in an effort to control them in a relationship. Please check out or upcoming blogs for more information.
Take good care....
