Minor in Possession of Alcohol Class • Call us at 801-341-0411 for more information
An underage alcohol citation typically requires that a person complete a PRIME For Life Class. However, there are exceptions to this in certain parts of Utah, and for cases from other states. There are judges that may require a person to complete a Minor in Possession of Alcohol Class (MIP), or this class could be ordered as a recommendation resulting from an evaluation. The MIP Class is normally only ordered or recommended for cases out of Box Elder and Cache Counties, where this class is allowed as a substitute for the PRIME For Life Class.
The MIP Class requires that a person attend a 1 day class and is offered in all Capstone Counseling Locations.
PRIME For Life is typically required for underage alcohol citations, not only by the court, but also by the DMV in order to maintain one's driving privileges (Please see: Utah Code Ann. Section 32B-4-409)
